I actually managed to get a decent capture of the awesomely cute Romanian wild flowers that we've been raising from some of the seeds sent to us last year by the very sweet Bia *Biutz and Kiki ~childofstar
I've been trying to get a good capture of these lovelies for the past few days ....but, every time I got most of the flowers in reasonable focus... the wind would blow ...and another flower or whole section would be out of focus
we actually planted the seeds for these flowers underneath our new little Mimosa tree [link] that we've raised from a seedling brought in by the birds... and babied all winter under our growlights ....if you look VERY closely underneath the little purple flower in the center of the capture... you'll see some dark greenish looking fronds ...that's the Mimosa tree trying to peek out from underneath all his flower friends ...who have been protecting him from high wind and
Anyways, the little blue & white flowers are the most amazing things!! They are all closed up and gone by 3 p.m. each afternoon... so you have to get up early to appreciate them!!
We haven't figured out precisely what they are... they have blooms that look like minature Morning Glory... but, they do NOT have any type of a vine structure... so if anyone knows what they actually are ... please let me know!!
This is what I love about ask... and someone will know The little blue & white flowers have been correctly identified by Kevin ~Althytrion as Convolvulus tricolor or Dwarf Morning Glory [link]
and the flowers that I thought looked like California poppies (but wasn't sure because they are only about 5 inches/127mm tall) are indeed Eschscholzia californica which CAN be that small! I'm excited, because I've been trying to get California poppies started in one of our flower beds for several years now... and these should be perennials!!
If you love it it, and I'll know you loved it! let me say thanks, in advance for every that you leave for me... I'll also make every effort to get by your gallery in the near future, and return the favor. But please be patient with me, for I earn my living as an artisan, with my hands and eyes, and DA is my relax time... and sometimes that time must be short in order to keep the bills paid!
Thank you my dear Jen! Yes, the friendship and warmth are the best part ...the flowers are just bonus! ...and they keep changing ...this week there are tiny orange zinnias!!
Appreciate the , too!
Speaking of friendship and warmth I don't think I ever responded to your wonderful last fall ...I read it & enjoyed it... but, was flying too fast (due to the time of year)... and I don't remember ever answering it Where is this year's Hippo convention??? are you going??
Don't worry about the note - I know your life tends to be rather like mine Yes I am going to the hippo reunion again - Denver this year I have a friend lives not too far from there, in the mountains, so I'm going to spend a couple of days with him after the reunion. Should be great fun Hope ou & Bob are OK and that business isn't too dire
so glad you understand Sometimes, just keeping everything tied together loosely precludes having much time for or anything else... other than making the almighty
The economy is still in an up and down mode... despite what all the media-folks-in-the-know (and our stewpid government) thinks. Fortunately, we are hanging in there ...but, it's been quite tricky at times. In June, we had to replace the transmission on the motorhome ...to the tune of $4400 (3605.8 euros) ...and then this month, we've had to spend $800 on replacing the air conditioner... but, fortunately Bob could install that... which saved us quite a few $$ ...and the old air conditioner is still good enough, that we could shift it to the opening above our bedroom ...and now when we do our next 2 shows in Shreveport, Louisiana, and Ft. Worth, Texas... we should be able to keep the place plenty cool
Buuuuuuuutt just as Bob got the air conditioner install complete... the motorhome generator now needs to be rebuilt or replaced ...so it's always something! After having to break down in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, the first weekend in May in the middle of a severe thunderstorm... with lightening popping just on the other side of the Mississippi River from where we were... we've decided to purchase a new, smaller, faster to break down canopy for our outside shows... so that expense will have to come out of our first fall show. Fortunately, we don't have any outside shows before then... and our old huge, but quite durable canopy is doing a great job of keeping tons of off our patio at the moment ...so that's been a big help in the 100+ (37.7 c) temperatures that we've been having since the middle of June. Weather Bug just keeps putting up a daily icon of a saguaro cactus in front of the sun And the UV's have leached the food coloring out of the hummingbird juice in the feeders Tonight, there's all around us... but, not a drop here
Well the sun finally arrived here this weekend - you must have blown hard! They say it will last until at least Friday - when it will turn thundery.
Poor you - lots of things going wrong I broke a sad record this weekend with the end of a nine day fair where I sold NOTHING! First zero in more than thirty years and on top of that I broke the frame of my glasses. I walked round the rest of the weekend wearing my clip-on sunglasses because they helped to hold them together, that or I used a neighbour's wire to roughly and droopily repair them. Looking through them is rather odd but better than nothing. I'm now back home and waring my old ones.
Appreciate the
