Can you tell that I'm really proud of this kick-ass capture??!! :giggle: :w00t:

Please be sure to read the artist's comments... and if you don't already know Mary-Anne, please go check out her beautiful :gallery:

Please note :

I have NOT requested a critique on this deviation... or any others in my gallery... and I certainly DO NOT want unsolicited critiques :D

I learn by trying new things and positive encouragement!! :boogie:

If you love it :+fav: it, and I'll know you loved it! :iconsnuzzleplz:
let me say thanks, in advance for every :+fav: that you leave for me...
I'll also make every effort to get by your gallery in the near future, and return the favor. But please be patient with me, for I earn my living as an artisan, with my hands and eyes, and DA is my relax time... and sometimes that time must be short :cries: in order to keep the bills paid!

Echoes of the past...

FULL VIEW FOR MAXIMUM SPIRIT ECHOES! :giggle:

I dreamed about this view, in a nap, one cold January afternoon... before I actually saw it for the first time, in person, on a very hot day in June :meditation: but, that's a story for another day... :plotting: I'll have to think about how to properly tell it :hmm:

Anyways, the ancient live oaks (with their load of resurrection ferns on top of their limbs) on the grounds of the Melrose Plantation in Melrose, Louisiana, are absolutely awesome... this one at the rear of the house has a huge branch that is too low to drive a vehicle underneath it, and I thought the tree framed this shot in a vignetted sort of way, that helps to give you a sense of the dreamy nature of the plantation, and it's spirit of the past :meditation:

To read more about the plantation, and it's history, check out this [link]
To see a capture of the front of the big house, check out this [link]

If you love it :+fav: it, and I'll know you loved it! :iconsnuzzleplz:

Summertime...

Catching Summertime...

:wow: I didn't even know I had captured folks fishing, until I pulled my images up on the laptop to process them :faint: I couldn't even see them on the back of my camera, when I reviewed the images.... what a great way to spend a summer evening!! :iconyaysupplz:

Perky pair...

Please see the dedications on this one! :meditation:
DA has so many wonderful perky pairs!! :iconyaysupplz:

Installing LOVE, Smiles & features

Journal Entry: Sat Jun 27, 2009, 11:07 PM

27th of June 2009 Installing LOVE...

(*disclaimer: If you hate long journals, exit now! If you stay :giggle: remember, you've been warned! :D)

Installing Love

Tech support : yes, how can I help you?
Customer: Well, after much consideration, I've decided to install Love.
Can you guide me through the process?
Tech support: Yes, I can help you. Are you ready to proceed?
Customer: Well, I am not very technical, but I think I am ready. What do I do first?
Tech: The first step is to open your Heart. Have you located your Heart?
Customer: Yes but there are several other programs running now. Is it ok to install Love while they are running?
Tech: What programs are running?
Customer: Let's see, I have Past hurt, Low Self-Esteem, Grudge and Resentment running right now.
Tech: No problem, Love will gradually erase Past Hurt from your current operating system. It may remain in your permanent memory but it will no longer disrupt other programs. Love will eventually override Low Self-Esteem with a module of its own called High Self-Esteem. However, you have to completely turn off Grudge and Resentment. Those programs prevent Love from being properly installed, Can you turn those off?
Customer: I don't know how to turn them off. Can you tell me how?
Tech: with pleasure. Go to your start menu and invoke Forgiveness. Do this as many times as necessary until Grudge and Resentment have been COMPLETELY erased.
Customer: ok, done!!!! Love has started installing itself. Is that normal?
Tech: Yes, but remember that you have only the base program. You need to begin connecting to other Hearts in order to get the upgrades.
Customer: Oops! I have an error message already. It says 'error' Program not run on external components. What should I do?
Tech: Don't worry. It means that the Love program is set up to run on Internal Hearts, but has not yet been run on your Heart. In non-technical terms, it means you have to Love yourself before you can love others.
Customer: so what should I do?
Tech: Pull down Self-Acceptance; then click on the following files: Forgive-Self; Realize your Worth; and Acknowledge your Limitations.
Customer: okay, done.
Tech: Now copy them to the 'My Heart' directory. The system will overwrite any conflicting files and begin patching faulty programming. Also you need to delete Verbose Self-Criticism from all directories and EMPTY your Recycling Bin to make sure it is completely gone and NEVER come back.
Customer: Got it. Hey! My Heart is filling up with new files. Smile is playing on my monitor and Peace and Contentment are copying themselves all over my Heart. Is this normal?
Tech: Sometimes. For others it takes awhile, but inevitable everything gets it at the proper time. So Love is installed and running. One more thing before we hang up. Love is Freeware. Be sure to give it and its various modules to everyone you meet. They will in turn share it with others and return some cool modules back to you.
Customer: Excellent!

:meditation: :meditation: :meditation: :meditation:

Now I would like to thank you my friends for helping to teach me how to let this program run! You guys are awesome, and I've really been missing you... but my other life is keeping me hopping right now... I'll be back when I can... :iconsnuzzleplz: Alice

In the meantime, here in the next box, are a few random thoughts to share with you... I've entitled them "Blessings from all around"... it will give you insight into what's been going on in our world... I hope you enjoy them :iconlovenodplz:

Random thoughts...

Blessings from all directions! :wow: :iconvictorydanceplz:

A very special thanks to whoever secretly gave me a 3 month subbie addition!! The timing couldn't be better... for right now, every little bit helps! We're counting our pennies :meditation:

The gladiolas & the roses... and all the other plants were wilting faster than we could drag the water hose & we had surprise rain TWICE! TONS of it... the cells formed right over the top of us... how cool is that??!! And, the rain dropped the temperatures back to reasonable for a few hours.
Maybe we'll have more surprise rain, and then a cool down...

Or.... we could send some of our excess heat to my Aussie "cousins" (you know, from the other land of Oz).... besides, David =Sun-Seeker called me a Dinky di sheila (translated: the genuine article) and is considering making me an honorary citizen of Australia.... and then an all Aussie devpage got confused about which "Oz" before they invited me to join... then recanted in the next post... but, I decided to :+devwatch: them... so all's well that ends well :D

We needed $100 in order to get supplies on order - and Bob's Mom just volunteered & loaned it to us! We really didn't have to ask! Hallelujah! It's so nice that she believes in us!!

Friends sent us a check $150 just before we left for our June show... and the timing was perfect!! They won't let us pay it back... so we're doing our best to learn how to be good receivers :giggle: but, cannot wait until we are able to pay it forward!! :w00t:

Bob's Dad went into the hospital for several days tests and treatment.... hopefully in order to prevent another Myasthenia Gravis "crisis"!!

We received 2 really long Beef Summer Sausages as a gift from a neighbor!

Got an e-mail from a wonderful friend.. telling me she had finally found a new job! :excited: We're so thrilled for her! :iconcheerplz:

Kind words & so much real honest-to-goodness love from all my wonderful DA friends!

The dragon tree starts have shoots! (we've never started any dracenias before)

The blue bell is coming up! (we thought it was a gonner!)

The money that we were able to make at our June show not only paid the house payment, and a couple more bills... but has stretched, and stretched and stretched! We had a customer call and add to his current order... and we immediately used that incoming money to pay the past due electric bill that HAD to be paid by the very next day! Awesome!! Now if we can just manage to get some more sales, so that we can pay the past due phone and internet bills, just in the nick of time (fortunately, they aren't screaming yet).

We have another customer who is talking about buying graduation gifts for his nephews... just as soon as the 2nd boy makes up his mind! Maybe he will do it soon :fingerscrossed:

We ate a baked chicken the other tonight, that cooked while we napped! And we've learned that we like it coated with olive oil, and spices, better than margarine. Btw, the whole frozen chicken was a gift from Bob's Mom!

Bob needs something to work for... other than just the house payment and the utilities... and so the new lense (see =TThealer's journal).... and I finally got a remote for my D40x, so I'm ready for fireworks on the 4th of July!! And the lense & remote don't have to be paid for until 1 January 2010, so we'll have plenty of time to make payments b4 then, especially during our October/November shows!! Now, we have something to work for!!

Thank goodness we don't have any credit cards to get in trouble with!! If the debit card account is empty... then you can't spend any money :D

The re-finance is official... soon, we'll be able to pay Bob's Mom back for all her help in May and June... and have a little left over for bills & taxes. And our house payment drops by $100 a month, and we only added 3 years to our loan.

We were able to book a new show for July (to help make up for losses in May)... and as a result, we're going to get to meet one of our bestest DA buddies in person!! :iconyaysupplz: Let's just hope that new show is profitable!! And that we get some great captures while we are gone!
No, I'm not giving away anything else in advance... that way you'll be surprised!! :giggle:

We have great selection of inventory already made... and just enough time to finish our special orders, and build a little bit of additional inventory, before time to leave for our July show!

So, I gotta get and get busy!! Thanks for believing in us!! Bob & I both really appreciate it!! I'll be thinking of you, while I'm listening to some of the best audio books I've checked out lately... :iconcheerplz:
I still owe you tons of responses, and I promise that I will get to them eventually... I'm not gone... just trying to hang on to the kitestring of our life!! :icondoublehugplz: Alice

P.S. And just one more thing... Bob & I will be holding our "Show Me Your Hometown" contest... but, it's going to start later and end later this year... we'll let you know, when details are finalized... so if you're thinking of entering, keep shooting!! :iconcheerplz:

Now, just a couple of smiles, and a few features, as my available time is verrrrrrrrrrrry short :cries: infact, my break time is already over :O :blowkiss: :sprint:

:ohmygod: just signed on, and found that my pageviews are at 29,998 :faint: Thanks so much for your support!! :iconskittlesglompplz: :iconrockonplz:

A man was driving when a traffic camera flashed. He thought his picture was taken for exceeding the speed limit, even though he knew he was not speeding. Just to be sure, he went around the block and passed the same spot, driving even more slowly, but again the camera flashed.
He thought this was quite funny, so he slowed down even further as he drove past the area, but the traffic camera flashed yet again. He tried a fourth time with the same result. The fifth time he was laughing when the camera flashed as he rolled past at a snail's pace.

Two weeks later, he received five traffic fine letters in the mail for driving without a seat belt.

A blonde was weed-whacking her yard and accidentally cut off the tail of her cat which was hiding in the grass.
She rushed her cat, along with the tail, over to WALMART.
Why WALMART??
